02 · Description

The oval glass top and how it works as storage

The top is a removable oval panel in 3/8-inch tempered safety glass, which is stronger than ordinary glass and is designed to break into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards if it ever fails. It comes in two styles: a solid glass top or a slotted version with cut-through openings. The oval shape softens the lines of a seating area and removes the hard corners that a rectangular table puts at shin height in a busy lobby. The glass wipes clean and shows off whatever you set on the shelf below it.

Lift the glass off and the base becomes open low storage or a display shelf on its own. That makes the Bolla flexible: use it as a glass coffee table in a waiting area, as a side table next to a chair, or as a low storage shelf in a corner. The two-shelf design gives you a display surface up top and a stash surface underneath in the same footprint.

What it’s made of

The base is built from HPL composite panels with a hi-impact plastic tube frame and white metal shelves. The panels are certified for low chemical emissions, the HPL surface is color-fast so it will not yellow, and the frame holds its color and shape through daily use. It ships at about 35 pounds.

The five frame colors, Black, Arctic Blue, Red, Scale Green, and Tangerine, let the table read as a quiet neutral or a deliberate pop of color in a reception or lounge space.
