A mobile island with trash can storage for the breakroom

This mobile island with trash can storage is the compact one: a 36 inch square caster base with two 28 inch tall cabinets back to back, under a 60 by 36 inch top that overhangs 12 inches at each end. On one side, a trash cabinet with two 10 gallon cans behind its doors. On the other, a storage cabinet with hinged doors and a 6 inch open slot above them for trays, napkins or the mail. The top stands 36 inches high, counter height. Made to order in the USA.

02 · Description

A breakroom island that also serves the copy room

As a breakroom island it holds the coffee machine on top with the cans underneath, so the waste basket stops living in the corner. Roll it to the copy room and the same slot and cabinet take paper and toner while the cans take the recycling. The four heavy-duty 4 inch casters all lock, and the 12 inch overhang at each end leaves standing room at the top without widening the base.

Think of it as a small storage cabinet on wheels that happens to carry a 60 inch counter. Nothing in it locks as listed, which suits a shared pantry or a print corner; a lock can be specified at build time if the cabinet will hold anything that needs one.

What comes included?

The trash cabinet with its two 10 gallon cans, the door cabinet with the open slot, the 60 inch top and the caster base: the whole breakroom island as pictured. The espresso machine, mugs and food are props. The finish in the photos is not a standard finish and costs more; standard finishes are included at this price.

How big are the trash cans?

Two 10 gallon cans come with the trash cabinet and sit behind its doors.

Do the cabinets lock?

No lock is listed on either cabinet. A lock can be specified at build time; ask before ordering and we will quote it.

How much room does a small storage cabinet on wheels like this need?

60 by 36 inches for the top, with the 36 inch square caster base centered under it. Leave room on both long sides to open the doors, and lock the casters once it is parked.

How does it ship?

By freight on a pallet, as factory-built pieces: the two cabinets, the top and the caster base. It is not flat-pack. The pieces connect to each other on site.
