Each end carries a cubbie insert 32 inches wide and 18 inches deep with four open compartments in two rows, one insert facing each side of the table, so whichever side you stand on there is a cubby within reach. The cubby shelves are fixed. Nothing locks and nothing closes: a collaborative table is for the things people carry in and carry out, not for filing. Between the cubbies, two full-height panels 40-3/8 inches tall and 62-1/2 inches long run under the top, one set in from each long edge, so the base is a closed block with no legs to catch a foot.
Collaboration tables for office floors live between the desks and the meeting rooms: a bar height collaboration table in a lobby commons, a serving bar in a workplace cafe, a standing review table in a studio. At 36 inches deep it is narrow enough to reach across; at 98 inches it is long enough for a group. There is room for bar-height seating along both long sides, and as a bar height table with cubbies it works just as well as a standing table.
