A reception desk with storage built in means the front office runs without a filing cabinet down the hall: a box-box-file pedestal under one leg for supplies and active paperwork, a file-file pedestal under the other holding two deep drawers of hanging folders, both locking with keys. The L layout puts an 84 inch desk on the front and a 54 inch return on the side, a 90 by 90 inch corner station.

02 · Description

The counter wraps the corner

A symmetrical L shaped transaction counter rides above the shells, its 12 inch deep ledge following the corner so visitors have a natural place to sign in from either approach. The counter section is faced in high-pressure laminate, the heavier commercial grade, on the surfaces the lobby actually touches.

A working reception office desk

The person staffing it gets continuous surface through the corner: computer on one leg, paperwork on the other, both pedestals within a chair-roll. A grommet passes cables through the work surface, keeping wiring off the desk and out of the lobby's sight line.
