Two storage inserts stand back to back under one end of the top. On one face, a bank of six box drawers, 32 inches wide and 22 inches deep, with a lock. On the other, a buffet cabinet 22 inches deep with a single box drawer over two hinged doors and an adjustable shelf. A 12 by 12 inch cut-out in the storage back panel passes the power cord down to the floor. Under the rest of the top, two full-height panels 40-3/8 inches tall and 62-1/2 inches long run one set in from each long edge, so the base is a closed block with no legs to work around. As a standing conference room table it keeps the markers, adapters and cables in the room instead of in a cupboard down the hall.
At 42 inches a standing conference table suits stand-up meetings, project rooms and the back of a training room, and as a bar height conference room table it takes the team lunch as easily as the Monday review. There is room for bar-height seating along both long sides beyond the storage end.
