The short answer: pick OfficeSimpli's ready-to-ship table when an 8, 10 or 12 ft rectangle in California Walnut fits your room and you need it soon. It ships in 2-3 business days, and freight typically takes 3-10 business days after that. Need another length, shape, base, finish or power? Design a custom table on our builder. It is made to order: a builder table ships in 2 to 3 weeks (around 4 weeks with metal legs), then the same freight time. Budget: the ready-to-ship table is $1,999, $2,299 or $2,499, all with shipping included (curbside freight, not inside delivery or assembly); a 12 ft Tenure table we designed on our builder came to $3,643 before freight at time of posting.

Can you wait a few weeks for the table?

Start with your date. The ready-to-ship table is already made: it ships in 2-3 business days, and freight typically takes 3-10 business days after it ships. A builder table is made after you order. The builder's “2 to 3 weeks” (around 4 with metal legs) is the time for a builder table, while our shipping page's “2-4 weeks” covers all made-to-order pieces; either way, freight comes after.

So, by your date:

Need it within about 3 weeks?

Choose the ready-to-ship table. It gets to you within about 3 weeks at most.

Have 6 weeks or more?

A builder table works: about 3 to 6 weeks, door to door.

Somewhere in between?

Tell us your date before you order, so we can confirm it.

Freight is a truck delivery for big pieces. As our conference table buying guide puts it, “the driver brings the table to your curb, driveway, front door or loading dock, but does not carry it inside or upstairs”. That is what curbside and dock freight means. White Glove Delivery, a paid add-on, carries the table inside to the room you choose, but it does not put the table together: for that, ask us for an assembly quote before you order.

Decision chart: if an 8, 10 or 12 ft, 48 inch deep table in California Walnut with two power units fits, the ready-to-ship table; if not and you can wait 3 to 6 weeks, a custom table from our builder
Ready-to-ship or custom conference table: two questions about the table, then one about your date. The times come from our product page, builder and shipping page.

Will 8, 10 or 12 feet fit your room?

On its product page, the ready-to-ship table is the 12 Person Conference Table, Ready to Ship (8, 10, 12 ft). It comes in three lengths: 8 ft (96 in), 10 ft (120 in) and 12 ft (144 in), all 48 inches deep and 30 inches tall. How many people fit? Our conference tables page gives each person about 30 inches of table edge, with a seat at each end:

8 ft (96 in)

Seats 8

10 ft (120 in)

Seats 10

12 ft (144 in)

Seats 10 with laptop room, and up to 12

16 ft (192 in), builder

Seats 14 and up to 16

20 ft (240 in), builder

Seats 18 and up to 20

Then check the room: chairs need space to pull out, and people need room to walk behind them. Our size calculator turns your room into a table length, and our size guide covers bigger tables. More than 12 people, or a table shorter than 8 ft or longer than 12 ft, means a custom table; our cost guide covers what bigger tables cost. The builder has set lengths from 6 to 20 ft and depths from 36 to 60 inches, plus round tops from 30 to 60 inches across and square tops from 30 to 54 inches.

Do you need a different shape, base, finish or power?

The ready-to-ship table is one design: a rectangle in California Walnut, a walnut-look laminate, on panel legs (flat laminate panels that stand on edge), with two 7-in-1 flip-up power units set into the top. Each unit has 3 outlets, 2 USB-A ports, 2 USB-C ports and an on/off switch. The length is the one thing you choose.

Custom bow-end conference table in a gray woodgrain laminate on three curved panel bases, with two power units
The walnut-look table is the ready-to-ship one; its 10 and 12 ft sizes stand on three panel legs, the 8 ft on two. The gray table is the builder's own picture of one of its 17 ready-made designs, a 12 ft bow-end top on curved laminate bases, made to order. That design has its own price on the builder; it is not the 12 ft table priced below.

The builder is where everything else changes. It has seven top shapes, 26 base options, 15 laminate finishes and five power units, and the 3-D table changes as you pick. The shapes: round; square; rectangular; racetrack, with straight long sides and fully rounded ends; boat, widest in the middle and narrower at both ends; bow-end, gently curved at the ends; and sightline, wide at the head and narrower at the foot. California Walnut is one of the 15 finishes, one of four that cost more, so you can keep the ready-to-ship table's look in another size or shape.

You can start from one of 17 ready-made designs and change anything, or start from scratch. Every build is made to order, the ready-made designs too. Our guide on how to design a custom conference table walks through each choice.

What does each one cost?

Here are our own prices. “Shipping included” means curbside freight, not inside delivery or assembly.

8 ft ready-to-ship

$1,999, shipping included

10 ft ready-to-ship

$2,299, shipping included

12 ft ready-to-ship

$2,499, shipping included

12 ft Tenure, builder

$3,643, before freight

The 12 ft ready-to-ship table is $2,499 with shipping included, and it ships in 2-3 business days. For a 12 ft table you design yourself, we priced a Tenure on our builder at time of posting: 48 by 144 inches with a top in two pieces, started from the builder's Tenure 10 ft panel-base design and set to 12 ft. It has the same two power units as the ready-to-ship table, each with 3 outlets, 2 USB-A, 2 USB-C and an on/off switch. It came to $3,643 before freight, and it ships in 2 to 3 weeks. Here is how it differs from the ready-to-ship table:

  • Finish: Fawn Cypress instead of California Walnut. Both are among the four finishes that cost more.
  • Base: laminate panel bases in the same finish, with white side panels, instead of the ready-to-ship table's panel legs. Panel bases keep it at the builder's 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Extra: a reveal, a thin strip set in under the edge of the top.

Our Tenure table with panel bases, shown at 16 ft on its product page. The 12 ft Tenure priced above stands on the same kind of panel bases, in its own finish.

What the builder gives you is choice: you pick the size, shape, base, finish and power, and the table still ships in 2 to 3 weeks (around 4 with metal legs). Any build you change is priced part by part, and its terms read: “Shipping is not included; contact us for a freight quote to your address.” On the last step, tap “Get my delivered price”, and our sales team emails your price with freight to your address included. White Glove Delivery is a paid add-on for either table. For price ranges by kind of table, see our conference table cost guide.

Worth knowing: the ready-to-ship table is one finish and three lengths, and as our cost guide says, “the top of our ready-to-ship table comes in two pieces at every length, so a seam runs across the middle”. On the builder, tops up to 8 ft are one piece and longer ones come in sections. You cannot cancel a made-to-order table once production starts (our FAQ gives you 3 days before that), but after delivery the same 30-day return window applies. The 15 ft size is the builder's one custom length, and it is final sale; 14 and 16 ft are standard lengths.

Ready-to-ship or custom: questions answered

What is a quick-ship conference table?

A table that is already made, so it ships in days instead of weeks. At OfficeSimpli that is our ready-to-ship table; a custom table is built after you order. For other brands' quick-ship tables and how delivery works, see our ready-to-ship guide.

Can the ready-to-ship table come in another color or size?

No. It comes in California Walnut, a walnut-look laminate, in 8, 10 or 12 ft. For another finish, length or shape, design it on our builder. California Walnut is one of its 15 finishes, so you can keep the look on a 14 or 16 ft table, for example; our California Walnut photo guide shows the finish up close.

Is a custom table made the same way?

They share the basics: an engineered wood core with a laminate surface, made in the USA, and our 15-Year Warranty with tiered coverage by component. The builder adds choices the ready-to-ship table does not have: HPL (high-pressure laminate, a separate, harder sheet bonded on) as well as TFL (thermally fused laminate, fused straight onto the core), a thicker top, other edges and 26 base options.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days, for fit, sizing or a change of mind. Our refund policy covers freight-shipped furniture, made-to-order pieces included. It has to go back in its original condition and packaging, you pay the return freight, and there is no restocking fee. If it arrives damaged, note it on the freight bill of lading and, as our FAQ says, “email our contact form within 3 days of delivery with photos showing the damage”; we cover the return shipping (steps on our returns page).
