This 8 ft conference table is a tapered sightline design: the top is 54 inches wide at the head and narrows to 30 inches at the tail, so the surface is widest where the screen and the head of the table sit. Everyone seated can see past the person next to them to the screen instead of leaning around a wide rectangle.

02 · Description

A one-piece top for an eight-seat room

An 8 ft tapered conference table is the shortest sightline length and the only one whose top is a single board: no seam, one 96-inch top on two sightline pedestals. Four seats along each long side at 24 inches apiece gives you 8 places, with the head of the table 54 inches wide and the tail 30, so a screen at the wide end stays in view from every chair.

Plan on a room about 16 feet by 12 feet 6 inches so chairs can pull out and people can walk behind them; 14 feet by 10 feet 6 inches works if nobody needs to pass behind a seated guest. The top is a single 96-inch board, so there is no seam to line up, on two pedestals that step down in width to follow the taper and keep legroom open along the full length.

The sightline base and build

The top is 1 and 1/8 inches thick with a 2mm PVC edge band. The two sightline pedestals are built in stepped widths that follow the taper, with wire management inside each one so cords from the surface run down and out of sight. Power grommets, side-panel finishes and a matching credenza are picked on this page and built with the table.
